Joel Snyder (Joe) Jenkins, 92, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jerry Hill Jenkins, his parents, Hubert and Eloise Jenkins, and his brothers, Hubert Jr. and E. Garth Jenkins. Joe is survived by his three sons: Joel Jr., Bill (Jo), and Robin (Debbie). He is also lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren: Joel (Tad) Jenkins III (Cassie), Wyatt Jenkins (Lauren), John Garth Jenkins (Kim), William Jenkins (Jen), and Rob Jenkins. As a proud grandfather, Joe leaves behind nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter along with other extended family members.
Personal and Community Life
Joe served as the former General Manager of the Fayetteville Publishing Company and was the last surviving charter member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, where Dr. and Mrs. Joel Snyder, his grandparents, were significant figures. An accomplished amateur golfer, Joe was passionate about the sport. He was deeply dedicated to his family and cherished his roles as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Joe also contributed generously to various community organizations, reflecting his strong commitment to service and leadership.
Service Arrangements and Memorial Contributions
In accordance with Joe's wishes, a private graveside service will be held for family members only. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor his memory are invited to make contributions in his name to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, the Child Advocacy Center of Cumberland County, or the Cumberland Community Foundation.
