Joan “Delores” (Bolton) Edge

Joan “Delores” Edge, 91, passed away on May 17, 2024, at Bethesda Health Care.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Charles, and Leavey Bolton; brother, David Bolton; sister, Doris Bolton; and her husband, Miles O. Edge, Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Miles O. Edge, III. and wife, Melissa; siblings, Sarah Bedsole, Glenda Hobson, and Tom Bolton and wife, Julia; grandchildren, Ryan Edge, and wife, Katherine, Miranda Perkins and husband, Austin, Makayla Edge and her 4 great grandchildren.

Delores retired from Carolina Telephone. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and playing the piano. She also led the choir at First Baptist Church in Sunset Harbor, NC, and had a great love for auto racing.

The family will receive friends at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 11 to 11:45 am. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12 pm with Pastor Tadlock officiating. Burial to follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park.
