Janice Nadine (Barfield) Holland

Janice Nadine Barfield Holland. 84, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Tony E. Holland and her son Clayton Lee Holland. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Tony E. Holland, Jr. (Brenda L. Holland) her granddaughters, Ashley Page Holland and Anna Lee Holland, her great grandchildren Evandria Rain Downton, Aiden Thomas Akins, and Emmi Lee Akins, her nieces and nephews Tami Nettles, Jennifer Robin, C.J. and Sarah Leonard, Lisa Porzio, John Leavitt, Jeff and Stephen Shattuck, Lacey Furmage, and Peter G. Jernigan, Jr.

Nadine was born in Cumberland County on January 31, 1941, to the late Ruby S. Sauls. She graduated in 1960 from Pine Forest High School.  Nadine worked for 30 years in medical administration for a number of prominent doctors in Fayetteville. She is also a former member of the Walstone Baptist Church.

Nadine was a dedicated mother, wife, daughter, niece, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked hard to leave a legacy for her children and theirs by being a room mother at school, den mother in the Scouts, and booster club member all through her children's school years. Nadine devoted as much time and care as she could for many of her family members when they were sick and in need. She provided every opportunity for her children to succeed. Nadine relished babysitting and the innocence of a child. 

Nadine enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and more than anything, time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren..
