Janice Boyle Obituary

Janice “Lynn” Hildebrand Boyle, 74, of 722 Odom Dr., Fayetteville NC, departed her earthly suffering on Thursday, June 17, 2021, to be united with her Lord in eternal glory, joining her mother, Martha Louisa (Donham) Hildebrand (1994), her father Allan Bryce Hildebrand (2006), and her beloved sister Helen Hildebrand Long (2011) in perpetual bliss.

Lynn was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on August 3, 1946, daughter to Allan Bryce Hildebrand, a Navy veteran of World War II, and Martha Louisa (Donham) Hildebrand, a lifelong wife, mother, and instructor in the school system. Lynn was joined in life a year later by her sister, Helen, born September 2, 1947. The only children of Bryce and Louisa, Lynn and Helen were inseparable as siblings.

Lynn graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. She subsequently graduated from Waynesburg College, Waynesburg Pennsylvania, where she enjoyed participating in many theatrical and music performances with her sister, Helen. Throughout her life’s journey, Lynn was continuous in her learning, dedicating herself to earning a PhD in Education, which she achieved through Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Lynn was a world traveler, having lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Virginia, South Korea, and North Carolina. Wherever she ventured, the world and its people were enlivened and lifted up through her joyous spirit and constant desire to serve and help others.

Lynn demonstrated a consistent, perpetual desire to help others. She was a formative member of Seoul International School in Seoul, South Korea, where her students and fellow staff loved her dearly for her tireless dedication to improving not only their lives, but also the lives of everyone around them. Lynn was also a founding member of a charter school in Moore County, North Carolina, an accomplishment of which she was most proud. She used every opportunity to help and improve the lives of her pupils who came into contact with her, many of whom remember her to this day, which speaks volumes of her efforts to help all of her students.

Lynn was preceded in death by her mother, Martha “Louisa” Hildebrand (1994), her father Allan “Bryce” Hildebrand (2006), and her sister, Helen Hildebrand Long (2011). Lynn is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Bowser (Trae), of Springfield, Georgia, and her son Robert Allan Boyle, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, as well as her grandchildren Alexander Bowser, Sarah Lynn Bowser, and Olivia Bowser, her nieces Rebecca Malia (Tim), Kathryn Barney (Greg), and her nephew Garth Long (Gloria). Lynn was grateful that she received so much faithful assistance from Martha Brigman.
