James Leroy "Bucky" Pierson Jr.

James Leroy “Bucky” Pierson, Jr, 65, of Fayetteville, was surrounded by his loving family when he was called to his heavenly home on February 15, 2021.  Bucky was born on July 8, 1955 to the late James and Juanita Pierson and is preceded in glory by his sisters Jean Autry and Janet Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Pierson; his daughters Jaime Allen (Steven) and Erin Pierson (Clay); siblings Judy Lucas (Dwight), Jerry Pierson (Debbie), Jill Vogler (Keith), Joann Umphlet (Jeff), and Lisa O’Nan (Ron); grandchildren Oaklee Hyatt, Carleigh Maready, Arianna Allen, Nolan Hyatt, and Oliver Hyatt; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Bucky enjoyed vacations with family to the beach and the mountains, pier fishing, and classic cars.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and made the best scrambled eggs ever according to his beloved Oaklee. A prominent male figure in the lives of many, he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tariq Nazir, Carrie Creech, and the entire staff at CFV Health Pavilion North Cancer Center, along with Belinda, Cindy, and Robin who are part of the transfusion team at Highsmith Rainey for their constant love and support.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Breezewood Church in Hope Mills with Pastor Bill Vines and Darol Britt officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12 to 12:45 PM. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park.
