James P. Roberts, Sr., age 82, died peacefully at home on January 25, 2023.
Fondly known as Jim, he is survived by his wife, Emilia Roberts; his son, James P. Roberts, Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Neil Kennedy; and his two grandsons, Aaron and Justin Kennedy, all of Grays Creek.
He was a retired CMSGT of the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served for 26 years before retiring and continuing to work in various positions at EDS, Harris Corporation, and ComSat. After retiring again in 1996, he moved to Hope Mills where he became a founder and CEO of The Communications Connection, Inc. and Roberts Rentals, LLC.
From meager beginnings in Old Town, Florida, Jim joined the Air Force in 1959. He met the love of his life, Emilia, in Chizé, France where they married in 1961. He enjoyed many years living and working overseas, traveling the U.S., building his family businesses, and spending time with his children, son-in-law, and grandchildren. He touched the lives of many people around the world and will be greatly missed.
A private life celebration will be held by family and friends.
