Ida Davis Obituary

With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Ida Margaret Davis, who passed away peacefully as the sun rose on January 22, 2026, at Village Green Nursing Home. At 71 years old, Ida left this world having gifted her family and friends a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet, resilient strength.

Born on July 4, 1954, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Ida entered the world with the same fire and spirit that would define her life. She grew up surrounded by a large and lively family, including six brothers, Thomas Miller, John Miller, George Miller, Robert Miller, and Charles Miller, and two sisters, Edna Miller and Susan Miller. Among them, she shared an especially cherished bond with her sister Tina Marshell, her partner in many mischievous and joy-filled adventures.

Ida's heart found its truest joy in her three children, whom she adored beyond measure. Her face would light up, her smile wide and infectious whenever she spoke with them. Their laughter, achievements, and even their chaos, were her greatest happiness. To know Ida was to know how fiercely and freely she loved her family.

She delighted in the simple beauties of life, hummingbirds, butterflies, wind chimes, and ice cream. She embraced people exactly as they were, welcoming them into her heart without hesitation, and often claiming them as her own. Her humor was unforgettable, her attitude larger than life, and her love unwavering.

Ida’s journey was marked by extraordinary strength. She battled health challenges, from brain surgery to the loss of her leg, with a determination that inspired everyone around her. Through every hardship, she continued to laugh, to love and to live fully. When her battle was finally over, God welcomed home his precious angel.

Ida is survived by her beloved children, John C. Davis (Tammy), of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Deemer (Francisca) of Fayetteville, NC, and Lucinda Grove, of Fayetteville, NC. She was blessed with seven grandchildren who brought her immense joy, Sam Davis, Laura Davis, Christopher Chance (Hades), Francisco Blas, Teshawn Martin, Nathaniel Deemer, and Triston Deemer.  Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandson, Atticus Chance, who carries forward the love of the generations before him. Ida also leaves behind a large, extended family; nieces, nephews, adoptive grandchildren, and countless friends; all of whom were touched by her warmth, humor, and boundless heart.

Ida Margret Davis lived life fully, love fiercely, and left this world more beautiful than she found it. Her memory will forever remain a light in the hearts of those who loved her.
