Matthew 5:4 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Horace Lynn Williams, Sr., 65, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, he had just spent time eating with his family a few hours before, which was his favorite thing to do. Horace grew up in Bladenboro, NC on the Cotton Mill Hill, he spoke of those times fondly.
He is the son of the late David and Molly (Callihan) Williams. He is preceded in death by his son, Horace Williams Jr.; his brothers, Mitchell Williams, Moriss Williams; nephew, Marty Shaver and niece, Karen Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Williams) Lopez and her husband, Carlos Lopez, his two sisters, Frances (Williams) Shaver and Doris Ann Gardner and their children that he loved very much. He leaves behind the legacy of his three grandchildren, Brittani Williams, Luna Lopez, and Joshua Lopez, they all will miss their granddaddy tremendously!
Horace Williams Sr. did a lot of awesome things in his life, he was a Deputy Sheriff at one time, then a Prison Guard, and right before he medically retired, he spent many many years working for CSX railroad, as a conductor.
Horace was a giver and helped so many. He was loved and he loved, that is profound, for that is one of the best things you can do on the Earth, love and be loved. Though Horace was flawed, he was a believer in Jesus and a helper of mankind, he is in Heaven, with his son, parents, and brothers now.
A memorial service will be held for him at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301, on Sunday, September 8th, at 4:00 pm.
