Helen Lucas Holmes

Helen Lucas Holmes, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. 

Helen was born on December 11, 1931, to T.S. and Bettie Lucas in Fayetteville, NC.

Helen was married to Harold Douglas Holmes, Sr.  She was predeceased by her parents and her husband. 

Helen is survived by her loving and devoted children: daughter, Betsy Holmes Abbott (Reg) of Fayetteville, and her son, Harold Douglas "Chip" Holmes, Jr. (Krista) of Charlotte. She was known as Helen or Gigi to her beloved grandchildren, Alex Abbott Spearman (Kyle), Harrison Gray Holmes, and Hunter Reid Holmes. 

A private family funeral service was held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Lafayette Memorial Park.
