Gwendolyn C. Parks, 59 years old, of Fayetteville passed away on August 5, 2023. Gwendolyn was born on January 26, 1964, in Wilson, North Carolina.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Delbert, and Hattie Mercer Cook; sister, Vickey Cook; and brothers, Ronnie Cook and Joseph Ray Cook. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Carl “Buck” D. Parks; sisters, Lou of Wilson, NC, and Patricia of Wilmington, NC; and brother, Charles Cook of Wilson, NC.
Gwen was a strong and determined woman with a heart of gold. Not only was she beautiful on the outside she had true beauty on the inside. She was the fearless leader of Fayetteville Otolaryngology for 31 years. She was adventurous, outgoing and she loved to work in her yard. She never met an animal she didn’t love. She loved to travel with her husband, Buck and their trusted companion Zach. Her laugh was contagious. Those around her knew they could always trust in her. She will be missed by many and she leaves us with a void that can never be filled.
The family will greet friends on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 1 to 1:45 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2 Pm in the Rogers and Breece Chapel. Burial to follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Wilson, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation at www.bcrf.org, in Gwendolyn’s honor.
