Greg Ricketson

Greg Ricketson, 80, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Greg was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Priscilla Robinson Ricketson and his eldest son Michael Lynn Ricketson.

Greg is survived by his son and daughter, David Earl Ricketson and Suzette Valte Ricketson of Fayetteville, NC, his brother Billy Sims and grandson Richard Cook.

Greg was a true American hero earning a Bronze Star/V and Purple Heart for numerous wounds sustained as an airborne combat infantryman of the famed 101st Airborne Division during his first tour of duty in Vietnam circa 1965-1966. Greg’s love for his country and his burning desire to continue serving, led him to re-enter active-duty service in April 1977 where he continued to serve until his retirement in December 1994 at the rank of Master Sergeant (MSG).

A Memorial Service will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on September 13th, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Family will be receiving friends prior to the service at 10:00A M.
