Gladys "Gin" Letchworth Horne

Gladys “Gin” Horne, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Highland House.

Gin was a retired Magistrate of Cumberland County, an active member of the Lady’s Auxiliary of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gin loved her family and friends. She was a gracious and kind lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Nicholas Elbridge Horne, Sr. and grandson Jason Zane.

Gin is survived by her three sons, Robert A. Cease and wife Jeanne of Naples, NY, Nick Horne and wife Kathy of Hope Mills, NC, and Kenny Horne of Hope Mills NC; her two daughters, June Zane and husband Mark of Rochester, NY and Pattie A. Cease of Goldsboro, NC, and her sister, Dixie Dixon of New Bern, NC.

Gin was also survived by six grandchildren, Heather Vansiles and husband Eric of Dover, OH, Mark Zane and wife Mary of Webster, NY, Nicole Bryant and husband Lin of Wilson, NC, Bleu Cease of Rochester, NY, Melissa Fincher and husband Nicholas of Fayetteville, NC, and Joshua Horne of Fayetteville, NC; eight great grandchildren, Hannah Vansiles, Foster Vansiles, Gaige Zane, Eliza Bryant, Ariana Zane, Giuliana Zane, Anthony Zane, and Lane Fincher, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held at Cross Creek Cemetery on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2PM with Minister Ricky McDuffie of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating.
