George Konstantine Skenteris

George K. Skenteris, 79, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 28th, 2021.
Born in Stenoma Eurytanias, Greece he was the son of late Constantine and Fotini Lazos Skenteris.
George came to the United States in 1967 at the age of 23 after serving in the Greek military. He owned and operated, with his son Dino, George’s Gyros, Pastas and Subs on Yadkin Rd. In 1969 he married his wife of 52 years, Eleftheria Papaspiros Skenteris. He was a dedicated member of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and the Velnichi and AHEPA Associations. George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he never met a stranger and was a friend to all.
Survived by his wife, Eleftheria Skenteris; daughter, Faye Fields and husband Mike; sons, Dino and wife Olga, and Pete and Wife Angela; brother, Pete K Skenteris; and sisters, Georgia Mantekas, Cleo Stathopoulos and Noula Vlahos; 9 grandkids and 2 great grandkids.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Petroula Kalevas, Angela Kotsokalis, Xanthi Kalevas and brother, Arthur Skenteris.
Visitation and Trisagion will be held Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, from 10:00am to 11:00am. A Funeral Service officiated by Father Alex Papagikos will be held Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, at 11:00am at the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 614 Oakridge Ave. Fayetteville, NC 28305.
