Gary David Wilson

Gary David Wilson, 79, of Fayetteville NC, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Brenda Heath Wilson; his twin brother, Jerry Wilson; his mother, Louise Barnhill; and his grandmother, Rossie Barnhill. 

Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory daughter, Heather Wilson Tuttle and her husband, Jason; son, Heath Wilson; siblings, Beverly Hall, Deborah Eubanks, Rosa Lyons, and Patricia Obenchain; and his six grandchildren, Blake Wilson, Casey Wilson, Dallas Wilson, Wilson Tuttle, Brayden Tuttle, and Lawson Tuttle. 

Gary was a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church for over 40 years and loved being a part of his Sunday School class and worship.  His faith was an important part of his life.  He loved the lord and that made a big difference in him.  He was raised by his grandmother, Rossie Barnhill, who was influential in guiding him to follow Christ. 

Growing up, baseball was a major part of Gary’s life.  He shared his love of baseball with his twin brother.  They played together in little league and into college where they were Co-MVPs at Southwood Jr College their sophomore year.  

Later in life he became an avid golfer.  He loved being on the golf course with friends and family, especially Richard Alligood and his grandsons.  

Gary made friends easily and loved being around people.  He never met a stranger, especially when paired with his twin brother Jerry. 

A visitation service will be held at 1 to 1:45 PM on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. A celebration of life service to follow at 2 PM with Reverend Blake Benge officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Gary’s name.
