Gary Jackson Obituary

Gary “Roe" Jackson, 82, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27th, 2024. Born on July 17th, 1941, in Cumberland County. Roe was the son of Burchel and Myrtle Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Burchel “Butch“ Jackson, Henry “Goodie“ Jackson; sister, Jane “Mintzie” Dey, and his son, Micheal Anthony Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Destria Spaulding Jackson; sister, Shirley Buie; daughters, Diane Jackson Brewington and husband, Ralph, Melissa Jackson Norris and Patty Jackson Roy and husband, Paul; sons, Gary Jackson and wife, Janice, Ray Ray and wife, Alyssa, Richard Jackson and wife, Devinne, Cody Jackson and wife,  Maegan, and Jakobi Jackson; his twenty-four grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of other family members and friends.

Roe enjoyed watching NASCAR, westerns, and all sports. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and shooting pool and most of all he loved being the life of the party and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024, in the Rogers and Breece Chapel with Reverend John Blackman officiating. Burial to follow to the service at Cross Creek Cemetery #4.
