Frances Bostic, 92, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1931, in Duplin County.
Frances grew up in Rose Hill, NC. She was valedictorian of her graduating class and attended Flora MacDonald College. After graduation, she worked in Pender County for NC Extension Service for several years. Frances was an active member of Highland Presbyterian Church. She was a past Moderator of the Presbyterian Women of the Church and was a member of Circle No. 6, where she was the Bible Moderator for many years. Frances was an avid gardener, enjoying many beautiful mornings working in her yard. She enjoyed baking and cooking, and her delicious meals will be remembered by many.
Frances was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Milton Carlyn Bostic, Sr.; parents, John Edward and Lena Heyer; two sisters, Betty Greenway and Barbara Eason and her brother, J.C. Heyer. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Torrans.
Frances was a devoted and caring mother to her children, Mary Bostic Kulig and Darryl Smith, and Milton Bostic, Jr. and wife, Junita. Frances loved her grandchildren deeply, J.C. Hayes, Zachary Hayes and wife, Caroline, and Natashia Bostic Williams and husband, Dr. Michael Williams. She was a devoted great grandmother to Carter Heyer Hayes and his sister to be born in December. Frances was very close to her friends, many wonderful nieces and nephews, extended family and Steve Kulig. The family would like to thank Sammi Locklear for the care she gave to Frances.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery on Fire Tower Road, Rose Hill, NC with Reverend Chip Stapleton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church or Cape Fear Valley Friends of the Cancer Center.
