Edwin Robles

Edwin Robles passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 6, 2024.

Edwin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia Ramos; grandfather, Juan Cruz; and brother, Angelo Luis Roque. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Robles; son, Edwin Omar Robles; son, Juan Gabriel Robles; daughters, Katiria Dennisse Robles and Leeana Nicole Robles; son, Michael Alfedo Robles; mother, Carmen Lydia Hernandez; sisters, Elizabeth Roque, Lillian Roque, Yolanda Roque, Wanda Yuette Agosto, Aracelys Esther Figueroa, and Carmen Lydia Figueroa; brother, Felix Alberta Figueroa; nephews, Miguel Angel Figueroa, and Edwin Jesus Figueroa. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Edwin Josue Robles, Elias Omar Robles, Matheos Aurelio Robles, and Isaac Lucas Hickox; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Noelle Robles and Rowan Robles.

Born in New York, New York, Edwin was raised by Julia and Juan in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.  He joined the Army in 1977, honorably serving for 12 years with tours to Germany, Korea, Panama, Kentucky, and Texas. After the military, Edwin opened his home to foster care, providing shelter, love, and care to over 30 children for 14 years. Edwin retired in Fayetteville, NC to share his love, kindness, and joy with his grandchildren for his remaining years.

Edwin touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Temple Baptist Church at 8:30 am. A funeral service will be held at 9 am with Pastor Autry officiating. Burial to follow the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
