Dr. Paul Muenzner passed into the arms of Jesus on April 13, 2024, holding hands with his wife, Elizabeth. He was 83.
He was born in Salem, MA to Harriett and Henry Muenzner. He moved to Ashland, Kentucky with his family at an early age where he graduated high school in 1959. His undergraduate degree was from Dartmouth College. He moved on to graduate from the University of Kentucky Medical School in 1973. Before his completion of his medical degree, he worked in the lab of Armco Steel in Ashland, for 5 years, where he made many close friends. He did his internship at Akron General Medical Center from 1973- 1974. He did his Orthopedic Residency at Akron General Medical Center - class of 1978. He had a private practice in Superior, Wisconsin where he was the only orthopedic surgeon in the area. Later he opened a practice in Dayton, Ohio. After closing that practice, he continued to practice at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville, NC until he retired in 2016. He was blessed with many close veteran friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his sister, Elizabeth; his three sons, Chris, Pat and Dave, their wives, Paula, Pam, and Amanda; and his 4 grandchildren, Jamie, Zach, Patrick and Erin.
A celebration service will be held on May 18th, 2024, at 2pm at The River Community Church in Fayetteville, NC.
