Derrick Lynn Bledsole, 56, passed away on Friday, July 25,2025.
Derrick was preceded in death by his parents Lonzel David and Vilona Whitehead Bledsole, and his two brothers Michael Wayne and Mickey Allen Bledsole. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his three sisters Jessamie Affionte, Patsy Rohrbeck (Bob) of Hope Mills, and Janet Carter of Fayetteville, his brothers Neal, Ronnie, Jimmie, and Ricky of Fayetteville, and his nephew Mickey Bledsole of the home. He is also survived by his 23 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews, and18 great great nieces and nephews.
Derrick Lynn Bledsole was born on November 11,1968, to the late Lonzel David and Vilona Whitehead Bledsole in Cumberland County. He graduated from Douglas Byrd High School and he attended Pembroke College. Derrick was an employee at Pierro’s Italian Bistro, Luigi’s Italian Chophouse, Angus Barn in Raleigh, and a realtor in Southport.
Derrick never met a stranger and was always there if you needed anything, he enjoyed helping others and never wanted anything in return. He always had a smile on his face and a hug for anyone that needed one. Ms. Bonnie was the love of his life and he always made sure to give her a hug and kiss after church, she was like a mother to him.
He attended the Cape Fear Baptist Church faithfully and always invited people to join him at church. Derrick would tell people all about Pastor Ricky and how the church you make will always make you feel welcome. Derrick was later baptized at home on the 23rd day of July 2025.
A funeral service will be held for him at Cape Fear Baptist Church, 100 Indian Drive Fayetteville, NC.
