Obituary

Debra Carter McCloud, 70, of Fayetteville passed away in First Health Hospice House on April 23, 2023 at 12:45 AM. Debra was born in Fort Campbell, KY on 9/4/1952 to Sherwood J Carter, Sr. (Nick) and Nancy Speir Carter. She graduated from Seventy-First High School.

She worked as a nurse and single mom and loved traveling, being outside, sewing, decorating, cooking, reading, and hosting gatherings. She was an active member of the Cape Fear Valley Scottish Clans and served as their president, secretary, and treasurer. She loved Westies and volunteered with The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Robert D. McCloud; daughter, Veronika Ann Surber; and her beautiful granddaughters, Jacqualine and Margaret Schreck.

Memorial Services will be held at Rogers and Breese Funeral Home, April 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
