Charles “Charlie” Stewart Crumpler V, affectionately known as CC5 by his colleagues and some family members, left this world on September 2, 2024, at the age of 25. He was on a journey to discover himself as a man rather than remaining as Little Charlie, the name many knew him by, and sought freedom in his life.
Charlie was preceded in death by his great papa, Charles Crumpler Jr.; great nanny, Louise Crumpler; grandmother, Barbara Johnson; and aunt, Candy Crumpler. He is survived by his father, Charles Crumpler IV; mother, Sophia Johnson; brother, Calvin Crumpler; sister, Caitlin Crumpler; niece, Leianna McCray; nephew, Chi Crumpler; and grandparents, Charles and Sonja Crumpler and Chris Johnson. He also leaves behind his great-grandfather, Dennis McNeill, and numerous family members who cherished him dearly.
Charlie had a deep love for his family, friends, and church community. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, proudly donning his team’s gear whenever they won. His passion extended to wrestling, where he endured physical pain but remained dedicated to the sport.
Charlie also had a fondness for classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows with his Papa Crumpler. He relished driving around to visit friends and family, had a keen interest in politics, and was known for sharing his opinions openly. He had many minister friends and loved telling people he was assistant Pastor at Northside United Pentecostal Church and was a dedicated worker at C&C Top Shop, which he inherited from his great-papa.
Charlie was a kind and gentle old soul whose presence will be deeply missed by his papa and nanny and his family. His life was a blessing to all, and his memory a treasure.
The family appreciates the outpouring of love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 12:45 to 1:45 pm. A funeral service will follow in the Rogers and Breece Chapel at 2 pm, with burial at Lafayette Memorial Park.
