Bruce La Von Carmain, 76, passed away on March 21, 2026.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Doris Carmain; and his brother, David Carmain.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Magalene Carmain; his daughter, Susan Carmain; his brothers, Stephen Carmain & Timothy Carmain; his nieces, Kimberly Carmain & Katie Carmain; his nephew, Jeremiah Carmain, and a host of family and friends.
Bruce lived a life marked by service, dedication, and quiet strength. He proudly served his country as a paratrooper and spent 20 years as a communications specialist in the military, an accomplishment he carried with great pride throughout his life.
After retiring from the military, Bruce continued his life of service as an armed guard at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant, where he worked faithfully for another 20 years.
Beyond his work, Bruce was a man who truly valued time with those he loved. He enjoyed football, target shooting, and especially gathering with family and friends for cookouts filled with laughter and good company. Those moments meant the most to him.
Bruce will be remembered for his steady presence, his deep sense of duty, and the love he shared with those around him. His life leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, and the simple joys of being together.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the Rogers & Breece Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis McQuaig officiating. The family will be greeting friends and guests at Rogers & Breece for a visitation from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Following the service, Bruce will be laid to rest at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, where he will receive his military honors.
