Brenda Casper Grimes went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Louisville, Tennessee. She was born in Albemarle, North Carolina, to Max and Kathleen Casper and graduated from Albemarle High School.
Brenda made her home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, for 54 years with her beloved husband, Howard Grimes, who preceded her in death in 2003. In 2016, she moved to Indiana to be near her eldest daughter, and in 2021 she relocated to Tennessee to be near her youngest daughter.
A woman of deep faith, Brenda was a devoted member of Village Baptist Church for over 50 years. She cherished her long and meaningful friendships and selflessly cared for her father, her in-laws, and her husband. Brenda was known for her elegant and meticulously coordinated outfits—always stylish down to her shoes and jewelry. Though quiet and understated, she possessed remarkable strength and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a tender heart, often placing the needs and concerns of others before her own. Brenda found joy in the simple gifts of nature, especially watching birds in spring and summer and admiring the changing leaves in autumn.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Parker and her husband, Jon, and Meredith Louden and her husband, Greg; as well as her four grandchildren: Kyle Parker, Ryan Parker, Olivia Louden, and Audrey Louden. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Roby Ballard, and sister-in-law, Cathy Ballard, along with her nieces Lisa Salyer and Robyn Ballard, and her nephew Kevin Ballard, whose support meant so much after Howard’s passing.
Services will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC, on Saturday, August 16. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. The family will gather for a private burial on Monday, August 18, where Brenda will be laid to rest beside Howard at Lafayette Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
