Obituary

The world lost a beloved mother, Billie Jean Nehls, on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021. Billie battled cancer, but it never stopped her from giving out the best hugs. Billie entered the gates of Heaven and was granted her angel wings peacefully with her daughter by her side at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Those that cleared her path to heaven were her mother and sisters, Mary Helen Starnes and Ginger Gracey Fuleihan.

Billie was born to Edward R. Vinson and the late, Marion Virginia Childs Vinson on January 6th, 1961, in in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Billie is survived by her father, husband, James Nehls; daughter, Kyra; and brother, Edward R. Vinson II, as well as nieces and nephews.

While the family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Billie in a way that honors her spirit and love for the ocean. A service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
