Betty Anderson Robertson, 95, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on October 22, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, John Newton Robertson, Jr.; her parents, Mary Furtick and Fred Whitehead Anderson; and her in-laws, Frances and Dr. John Newton Robertson, Sr.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Murray of Muskegon, MI; daughter, Lynne Robertson O’Quinn and her husband, Andrew Daniel O’Quinn of Fayetteville, NC; son, John Frederick Robertson of Fayetteville, NC; her grandchildren, Brandon Scott Dempsey and his wife, Donna, Heather O’Quinn Regan, Travis Neil Dempsey and his wife, Jessica, and Andrew (Drew) Daniel O’Quinn and his wife, Amanda; as well as her 13 great-grandchildren.
A dedicated community volunteer, Betty served with numerous civic organizations. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader, speaker for Stonecroft Women’s Ministries, Bible Study leader for Fayetteville Women’s Connection, Sunday School Teacher, member of His Outreach Worldwide Prayer Team and advisory board, a Girl Scout leader, and a devoted homemaker. She attended Queens College in Charlotte, NC, where she met her husband, Newton, who was a student at Davidson College.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Harmony at Hope Mills and Pruitthealth Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Betty.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church from 1:30 to 2 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM with Pastor Sandy Saunders officiating.
