Betty Everson Pinkney

Betty Everson Pinkney, 94, of Fayetteville passed away on March 13, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Everson, and Abbie Jane Bagley Lee; husband, Vernon C. Pinkney; brothers, Jack Everson (Bell) and Reese Everson; and son in law, Tom Trogdon. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Sheila Lancaster (Victor), Charlotte Trogdon, Lori Atchley and Shari Maness (Leonard); sons, Charles Atchley, Wayne Atchley; grandchildren, Brian Lancaster (Kayla), Tim Trogdon (Donna), Matthew Trogdon, Lauren Lancaster, Nicole Atchley, Melissa Hogan (Greg), and Kristine Atchley; step grandchildren, Victor Lancaster (Emile) and Todd Lancaster (Tonia); sister in law, Margaret Everson and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Betty loved working in her yard and taking care of her flowers and trees.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cape Fear Valley Hospital South Tower 3rd Floor for their kind and compassionate care of their mother.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1 pm at Cumberland Memorial Gardens on Raeford Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local Salvation Army.
