Betty McDowell Leigh

Betty McDowell Leigh, 81, passed away on February 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving daughters and their husbands.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis Harold Leigh; parents, Archie and Scottie McDowell; sister, Hazel Lee; and brothers, JW McDowell, and Carlton McDowell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Sandy Flanary (Ron), Sharon Barnhill (Chris) both of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Lois Rogers of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Wanda Jordan (David) of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Amber Scott, Morgan Bowen, Kris Flanary, Madison Fann and MaKenzie Flanary; and great grandchildren, Addysen Bowen, Landon Bowen, Kopeland Flanary, Maddux Fann, and Alex Scott.

 Betty was a loving mother and granny. She retired from Monsanto in 1998. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Cindy Holland, Denise Greer, Becky Gustafson, Pam Barnhill and all the wonderful nurses and aides of Amedisys Hospice for their love and support.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:45 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the Rogers and Breece Chapel with Reverend Terry Whittenton officiating.
