Betty Joan Jones passed away on July 18, 2024.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Jones; sister, Jean Sessoms; brother-in-law, Billy Sessoms; mother, Louise Holland; and her father, Challie Holland. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Sandra Wilson and husband, Craig Wilson; granddaughter, Elena Grimaldi and her partner, Zackery James and great grandson, Tyde James; step grandchildren, Casey and Chris Grimaldi; nieces, Dannie Larkin, Michelle Molosso and husband, Lt. Col. Mike Molosso; great nieces, Jamie Larkin and husband, Daniel Moline, Kelly Larkin, Maggie Larkin, Morgan Crocker and husband, Jack Crocker; and longtime friend and confidant, Ada Graham.
Joan was loved by everyone that knew her. She cared deeply for others and took pride in being a woman of God. She loved her family and friends fiercely and was known for giving excellent advice just when someone needed it the most.
Kure Beach, NC was her second home as she treasured her time on the beach and cherished spending time there with family and friends. She taught us the true meaning of perseverance and showed us that even in the toughest of times it is possible to find joy and spread love. We give thanks that she is no longer in pain and in the arms of Our Lord and her husband Chet.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Village Baptist Church from 1 to 1:45 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm with Reverend Nick Smith officiating. Burial to follow the service at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 4:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Village Baptist Church in Betty’s honor.
