Benjamin Lee Whitaker

Benjamin Lee Whitaker, 76, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Horne and stepfather, Stephen Horne, Jr. of Fayetteville.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Wanda Whitaker of Fayetteville; son, Benji Whitaker of Chicago; brother, Wayne Whitaker and wife, Patsy of Leland; sister, Karen Blanton and husband, David of Charlotte; sister in law, Belinda Ratley of Fayetteville; brother in law, Neil Jody Ratley of Hope Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Ben proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful employee of Kelly Tire Company for 30 years and took much pride in his work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, camping, fishing and woodworking. Ben was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him, and he will truly be missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 1:30 to 2:15 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 2:30 pm. Burial to follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park.
