Arthur Campbell, Jr. Obituary

                Arthur L Campbell, Jr, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Art was the son of Arthur L. and Otha Campbell and was born on December 22, 1942, at Ft Campbell, Kentucky.
   Art, a combat medic, was a retired US Army First Sergeant who served for 26 years. His service overlapped that of his father’s, who enlisted in 1933. Art’s father was one of the Nation’s first airborne paratroopers and had fought in several WWII campaigns. Art’s service included two combat tours in Vietnam, two purple hearts, the bronze star for valor, the combat medic badge, and three air medals, among other awards. He was also a retired hospital executive who worked at Moore Regional Hospital for 23 years following his retirement from the Army.
 Art was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest son, Jason. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maureen; his sister, Linda Martin (Bob); his sons, Arthur III (Deborah), Tracy (Shannon), and Joseph (Corrie); nine grandchildren, Ashley (Dan), Megan (Preston), Brittany, Caitlyn, Dylan, Matthew, Carson, Jenna, Lauryn, and two great grandchildren, Addison and Liam.
   The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Village Baptist Church of Fayetteville and visitation will be immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. which will be officiated by Dan Brown. Burial ceremony will commence at 1:00 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park.
