Anthony Ray Duffer, age 74, known as Tony to family and friends, passed away July 28, 2025 at his home in Fayetteville, NC.
Tony was born March 27, 1951 to parents Wyona and Charles Duffer in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Mickey and Steve, and his adored daughter, Kristen Reynolds Brazell.
Tony was the beloved husband of Claudia Rebecca Reynolds Duffer for 37 years. They were devoted, loving companions, and best buddies.
He was the loving father of Devon Leigh Adams, Danielle Bartlett-Davis (Randy Davis), and David Sean Reynolds (Lisa Reynolds). Tony was very proud of them and the legacy left behind.
Tony was a devoted grandfather to Hunter Adams, Logan Adams, Chase Adams, Ella Brazell, Ava Reynolds, Nicholas Reynolds, and Aubrie Davis. Tony prioritized each grandchild, sharing their lives and interests. He was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tony was the beloved twin brother of Anita Duffer Wallwork and close friend of Anita’s husband Brian Wallwork. Tony and Anita made twinship the ultimate seal of their existence, and shared that very special bond.
Tony was a graduate of Massey Hill HS and UNC-Chapel Hill. He retired from a long career in sales and marketing. Tony was a proud member of the Cross Creek Pipes and Drums Scottish Band, and the Fayetteville Independent Light Infantry.
Tony was a true bibliophile and history enthusiast. He enjoyed good food, fellowship, and long, engaging conversations with family and friends. Tony was a delightful storyteller with a keen sense of wit and fun. He was a crossword enthusiast, completing them in ink just to wink at his fellow mortals.
Tony never lost his sense of wonder or a deep belief in the power of second chances for everyone. He always showed up, consistently and intentionally, as a helping hand and a light in the dark.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on August 8, 2025, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, NC. Visitation from 11:00-1:00, followed by the service at 1:00.
