Annie Mae (Whitaker) Beard

Annie Mae (Ann) Beard, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Annie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sandy Gerald Beard, Sr., and her children, Deborah Kay Beard, Gregory Allen Beard, and Cynthia Ann Beard.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Sandy Beard and wife Kim of Fayetteville, NC; Kathy Matthews and husband Dennis of Autryville, NC; and Doug Beard of Vincent, AL. Annie was a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren.

Annie was a dedicated member of the Vander Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother of six, a loving wife, and co-owner of Beard's Quality Upholstery alongside her husband. Her warmth, strength, and deep love for her family and community will be remembered always.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
