Annette Barvais Smith, 89, of Raeford, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born on November 27, 1935, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to the late Leon and Betty Barvais.
Annette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike Smith; her parents, Leon and Betty Barvais; her daughter, Teddie Tull; her son, Robert Prewitt; her sister, Vicki Wilkes; her brother, Buck Barvais; and her grandson, Stan Taylor.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Mary Taylor (Stan) of Vincennes, Indiana; her grandchildren, James Alvis (Patricia) of Raeford, North Carolina, Cory Alvis (Heather) of Evans, Georgia, and Chrissy Taylor of Vincennes, Indiana and her nephew, Brian Shots of Vincennes, Indiana. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory.
Annette was a vibrant and loving person who adored her family. She had a passion for knitting and crocheting and took immense pride in maintaining her beautiful yard. Her warm spirit and outgoing nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
A memorial service to celebrate Annette’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, with Brother Larry Chason officiating.
Annette’s presence will be deeply missed, but her love and memories will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
