Angela Saxon Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce that Angela Marie Saxon passed away peacefully in her home on August 8, 2025, at the age of 63, surrounded by love. Angela was born on August 22, 1961, in Germany, and throughout her life, she touched countless hearts with her kindness, strength, and gentle spirit.

In her younger years, Angela discovered a passion for music. She began learning to play the guitar and, with her amazing and talented voice, went on to record and publish beautiful songs that are now preserved in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Alongside her guitar teacher and publisher, Doyle Wood, Angela shared her musical gifts generously. She sang as part of her church’s praise team and Fire Choir, living to praise her Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her many friends and family.

Angela also led a clown ministry at her church, where she joyfully taught skits and songs to the youth, sharing laughter, faith, and creativity with the children she loved so much.

Her faith took her beyond her local community, as she participated in a missionary trip to Jamaica, where she taught children about Jesus, spreading hope and love across borders.

Angela faithfully worshipped with and watched her church each Sunday through live streaming services. New Life Worship Center Church was the church she loved deeply, and where she found spiritual strength and community.

Angela loved her church family deeply and held great respect and affection for her pastor, Austin Swinson, and bishop, Earl Swinson, who were a constant source of spiritual guidance and support throughout her life.

Angela was also a dedicated professional in the beauty industry. For more than 40 years, she brought joy and confidence to many through her work as a hairstylist. She served as the General Manager of four Fantastic Sams hair salons in the RDU area, touching the lives of countless clients and colleagues, always leaving them with a smile.

Angela had an incredible gift for making people feel like family. Whether she had known someone for decades or only just met them, she offered warmth, comfort, and understanding without hesitation. She was more than a friend to many — she was a source of guidance, laughter, and unconditional love.

Angela loved her family dearly; her daughters and grandchildren were the apple of her eyes. She also loved her two dogs, Miles and Sophie, who brought her much joy and companionship.

Angela bravely fought cancer, but did not win her fight. Jesus did, by taking her to the golden streets of heaven where she now rejoices with a new, glorified body. Angela eagerly awaits the day when she can see and embrace everyone again.

Angela is survived by her loving mother, Betty Ellifritz, and her mother’s companion, W.T. (Bud) Heath; her brothers, Jimmy Ellifritz and Jay Ellifritz; her two beloved daughters, Megan Saxon and Courtney Saxon; her devoted son-in-law Joseph Williams; her GOD sent son, William Bitt Gainey; her four treasured grandchildren — Christian, Gavin, Jacob, and Tristian — and her two precious great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by dear friends and extended family who will miss her deeply.

A wake will be held on August 12, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The funeral service will take place on August 13, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the same location, followed by a celebration of Angela’s life where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the beautiful life she lived.

Though she has left this world, Angela is now free from pain and suffering, reunited with loved ones who went before her. Her spirit rests peacefully in the presence of her Savior, and her light will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
