Alfred "Runt" Montgomery Horne

Alfred "Runt" Montgomery Horne, age 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evie Lee Wright Horne, father, Stephen T. Horne, Sr., and wife, Rosa Lee Horne. Runt also joined his siblings, Stephen T. Horne, Jr., Gary Thomas Horne, Charlene Horne, and Robert Lee Horne in eternal rest. 
He is survived and fondly remembered by his sister, Jeannette Faye Horne; sister-in-laws, Audrey Horne, Olivia Herring, and Alyce Horne; brother-in-law, Billy Herring and numerous nieces and nephews.
Runt's journey in life began at Steve's Silver Diner on Gillespie Street, where he assisted his daddy, Stephen. His path led him to the Army, where he served at Ft. Hood alongside the legendary Elvis Presley. Later in life, he became an insurance agent and retired as a bank teller at Southern National Bank. 
Loved by everyone who crossed his path, Runt will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 11 to 12:30 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM at Lafayette Memorial Park with Reverend Matthew Copple officiating.
