Alfred Todd Obituary

Alfred "Elwood" Todd, of Fayetteville NC, surrounded by his family, passed away on January 21, 2024, after a period of declining health. Elwood was born on June 27, 1934, in Bladen County, to the late John and Hattie Todd and was the last surviving sibling of ten children.

There are some who bring a light into the world that even after they are gone the light remains. This would be our Daddy and our Grandfather.

Elwood was a kind and gentle soul who was deeply devoted to his family. He dedicated almost 40 years to his career in textiles prior to retiring in 1997. Daddy/Papa loved his Family with all of his heart, and they will always love him. He loved 'tinkering' with antique cars and newer ones along with watching his favorite old Westerns. His beloved dog, Bella, was a favored companion.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtie Todd of 50 years. Left to Cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years, Carolyn Todd of Fayetteville; and children: Debbie McMillan and husband, Paul of Fayetteville; Sandy Godwin and husband, Mark of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Randy Kinlaw and wife, Wendy of St. Pauls; Wayne Kinlaw and wife, Tabitha of Aberdeen; and grandchildren: Paul McMillan, Jr. and wife, Nicole of Holly Springs; Bryan McMillan and Julie of Jamestown; Kimberly Conrad and husband, Chris of Raleigh; Brandon Godwin and Jenn of Troy Michigan; and great grandchildren, Ashlyn McMillan of Holly Springs; Jacob McMillan of Holly Springs and Rosie McMillan and Haven of Jamestown; step grandchildren, Abigail Kinlaw, Nathan Kinlaw, Tatum Kinlaw, Nicholas and Stephen Stewart.

The family will receive friends and family from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville, N.C. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
