With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adam Bean on March 27, 2026 at age 42. Adam was born in Portland, Oregon on May 24, 1983 to David and Sandra Bean.
Adam lived in Oregon the first 18 years of his life before joining the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, Serving a tour in Iraq before being medically discharged.
Adam settled in North Carolina and joined the Cumberland County Sheriffs Department where he served faithfully the last 20 years, beginning as a patrol deputy and most recently as Captain, Assistant Chief of Detectives.
Adam received his Bachelors Degree from Campbell University and was pursuing his masters Degree through UNC Pembroke.
Adam is survived by his beloved son, Braxton; parents, David & Linda Bean and Sandra Bean; his sister and brother in law, Stacey & Earl Hastings; his nephew, Devon Wilson and many other relatives and friends.
Adam was a natural leader known for his keen intelligence, sharp wit, and dedication to those he cared for. He loved to learn new things and had a natural ability for fixing most anything. He valued spending time with his treasured son.
Adam is loved. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
