William "Bill" Franklin Townsend, 74, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 in Fayetteville, NC.
Bill is survived by his wife, Veronika Townsend of Raeford, NC; son, Marcus Townsend of Fayetteville, NC; stepson, Marco Münch of Germany; stepdaughters, Jasmin Hutto of Fayetteville, NC and Diana McHugh of West Palm Beach, FL, and his canine daughter, Princess. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Ralph Townsend and mother Imogene Hyatt Townsend of Fayetteville, NC.
Bill was born on October 25st, 1945 in Wilmington, NC to Arthur and Imogene. A graduate of 71st High school, he enlisted in the Army on June 14th, 1966 and served until his honorable discharge on February 8th, 1969 after returning from Vietnam.
Earning an Associates in Accounting at FTCC and being known for being good with numbers, Bill had a career where he held positions as a controller, loan officer, sales, and as an entrepreneur until he retired in 2005.
After retiring, Bill met the Love of His Life, Veronika, and they were married on April 26th, 2014.
Bill was known for his love of America, the beach, and Chevrolet Corvettes. He was an active member of Cape Fear Team Corvette for much of his retired life.
A funeral is scheduled for Friday the 31st, 2019. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral home, followed by a procession to Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake for the Graveside service with military honors at 12 p.m.
