Sonia Mary Simetich, 90, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018.
Sonia Simetich came to this country from Italy as a war bride in 1948. Military service brought her and her husband to Fayetteville in 1950, where they lived for the rest of their lives. Ms. Simetich was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothes. She also enjoyed gardening and watching her flowers bloom in the spring and summer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Simetich.
Left to cherish her memory by a daughter, Cindy Clark and husband, Daniel of Fayetteville; a granddaughter, Christina Clark of Annapolis, Md.; and extended family, Brenda and Thomas McKenrick of Cameron and Linda Griffin of Jacksonville.
We would like to thank Carillon Assisted Living of Fayetteville for their care of my mother during the last year of her life. We would also like to thank Janet Aldoph of Home Instead for her care, compassion, and companionship for six years.
The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
