Shirley Parker Brady Obituary

Shirley P. Brady, 83, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 in Hoschton, GA. She was born in Cumberland County to the late George Parker and Susan Brown Parker.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John; her two daughters, Cynthia Brady Hawkins of Social Circle, GA and Sylvia “Toni” Brady Brown and husband, Steve of Bluffton, SC; one granddaughter, Kallie Brown of Memphis, TN; two grandsons, Jason Hawkins and wife, Christy of Monticello, GA and Adam Hawkins of Loganville, GA ; two great grandsons, Brodie and Colt Hawkins; several nieces and nephews and her lovable fur baby “Harley”.

Shirley and John were high school sweethearts at Massey Hill. She was an outstanding basketball and softball player for the Massey Hill Pirates.

Shirley enjoyed watching her favorite college teams, UNC Tar Heel basketball, Alabama Crimson Tide football and Clemson Tigers football. Feisty would be the best word to describe Shirley and her competitive nature contributed to her success at training her Jack Russell terriers, Sissy, Bailey, Charlie and Linus.  Both Charlie and Linus loved playing softball, Charlie would run the bases while Linus played outfield.

Shirley will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Those who knew and loved her will remember the wonderful times she had with them.

A graveside service will be Sunday, November 17 at 1 PM at LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 12 PM prior to the service at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
