My wishes to your family for healing as Gary goes on to a new journey.
Gary was my mentor and sponsor and friend since July 1997 in Fayetteville NC.Gary's coaching and mentorship brought me to SFA CH118,/CH11,who knew MAJ Larry Thorne. Gary was so warm in heart and his heart was as large as the WORLD. Gary was beloved friend, whom I will always miss and remember forever. Rest in Peace, Gary.Thank you SO MUCH for everything!

Cousin Gary Betterton was shooting frogs and snakes down in a swampy area near his boyhood home when I first met him. He was 17 and I was 11. I had just moved to Alabama with my parents and brothers and sisters. Gary was "popping" those little lumps in the water. This was my initiation into the country life! Gary had just signed up with Uncle Sam to serve in the Army in that year of 1958. I later joined the military in 1966. Gary was a true Patriot!!! May he Rest In Peace!!!

My wishes to your family for healing as Gary goes on to a new journey. I am sure the Angels are escorting him as his compassion for others seemed abundant.
He was a constant mentor to me anytime we met up be it at his Mugshots hangout along with his great friend "Hap" Hazard, or the many charitable rides and missions we went along on. One of a kind best to be around.
Thank you for allowing us to escort Gary to the church.

JESUS has a way of gathering into HIS Flock those who have stood against the tyranny of this world. Garry lived the 'De Oppressor Liber' life and was indeed a professional 'Sine Pari', 'Without Equal'. It was an honor to have served with Garry at Det A. Our paths only crossed 1 other time after Andrews Kaserne but we were mates so that moment was treasured. GOD'S Blessings in the celebration of a life well lived, bringing honor to the times of life here and to the eternity Garry is enjoying now.
