Retired SFC Randall "Lee" Whitley, 54, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018.
He was born on May 21, 1963 in High Point, NC.
Lee served 22 honorable years in the US Army, 17 years of that time in Special Forces Command. He settled in Fayetteville to be close to his children, Christy and JD. Since his retirement in 2004, he always graciously cared for others. Riding his Harley was his true passion, meeting new people and sharing time with old friends and family.
His words were kind and encouraging to so many. Any who knew him shared part of a life of one of the truest men we could ever know.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Christy Desjardins; son, John "JD" McConnell; grandson, Desmond Desjardins; brothers, Don Whitley, Keith Poage and Mark Poage; sister, Lori Jackson and their families.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12:45 pm prior to the service.
