Retired SFC Joseph Stephen Self, 62, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

Joseph dedicated 20 years of service to the Army. He was a member of 3rd Special Forces Group and an instructor with the Special Forces Warfare Center and School.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margie Self of the home; his three daughters, Angela Jay of Fayetteville, Lauren Self of Charlotte and Madeline Self of the home; a son, Adam Jay of Fayetteville; his parents, Samuel and Lorene Self of Louisa, Ky.; a sister, Debbie Guthrie of Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren, Cherrysa, Imani, Amina and Niko; and two nephews, Sammy and Caleb.

The family will receive friends tonight, Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 7 pm to 10 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 1270 KY-2565, Louisa, Ky. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Self Family Cemetery Louisa, Ky.
