Retired Master Sgt. Harry Junius Auten, 86, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
A veteran of 21 dedicated years of service in the US Army. Mr. Auten graduated from Fayetteville Technical College earning his degree in Heating and Air Conditioning and was awarded a membership of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. After graduation, he worked for the City of Fayetteville and retired after 21 years as the Assistant Superintendent in the Inspection Department.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Auten.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marjorie Auten of the home; son, Russell Auten of the home; daughters, Donna Halstead and husband, Michael of Hampstead, Cait Gillis and husband Richard of Beloit, Wisc. and Patty Baxter of Fayetteville; and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:45 am to 1:45 pm prior the service at the funeral home.
