Nettie Squires (Squires) Melvin

Mrs. Nettie Squires Melvin, 82, of Fayetteville passed away on May 18, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton G. Melvin, Jr.; sons, Alton Glenn Melvin, III, Joseph Melvin; grandson, Jonathan Inman; a sister, Christine Butler; brothers, Harry Squires and Bill Squires; and her parents, Watus P. Squires and Mattie Benson Squires.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri Inman (Ronnie) of Fayetteville, Teresa Tyner (Timmy) of Fayetteville and Brenda Ligon (Johnny) of Scottsburg, Va.; three sisters, Mila Morgan, Peggy Brisson and Faye Barfield, all of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Missie Thompson, Joey Throckmorton, Jenna Wilmouth, Beth Smith and Joanne Mead; six great grandchildren; and a special friend, Lacy Sikes.

A private graveside service will be held at 11 am Monday, May 22, 2017 at Hair Cemetery with Rev. Gary Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends at her home.
