Kenneth Aubrey Smith

Kenneth Aubrey Smith, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2017. 

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kristen Werner (Jeremy); two sons, Kenneth James Smith and Zachery Wagner; and 3 grandchildren Colby, Garrett, and Dalton. He is also survived by his sister, Edith Smith, as well as his mother, Greta Smith. 

Kenneth was born in Fayetteville and attended Douglas Byrd High School. He had a passion for motorcycles, and was widely regarded as the best motorcycle mechanic in the city. He enjoyed many years of racing motocross, throughout the country. Kenneth shared this passion with his sons, and enjoyed watching them do some racing of their own. 

He loved to fish, and spent many weekends with his father, or his children, at their favorite fishing hole. The family enjoyed many a fish fry together, after these trips. Kenneth enjoyed music very much. He could often be heard singing, sometimes changing the words to make a joke. His laugh was so distinctive, and it could make anyone smile. Kenneth never met a stranger, and was a friend to all. 

Kenneth was a member of Village Baptist Church, and his faith carried him through the last days of his life. The family would like to thank the pastoral staff of Village Baptist for all of their visits with Kenneth, over the past few months. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Village Baptist Church, or the American Liver Foundation-Southeast Region.
