Jean Mobley Hurley

Jean Mobley Hurley of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. 

Jean Mobley Hurley entered this world on August 5th, 1931 in the eastern NC town of Robersonville (Martin County). She was the 7th of nine children born to the farming family of Deward and Nettie Mobley. Being from a large family, she has many loved ones that loved her dearly with many great memories and stories. Her "never met a stranger" personality fostered a warm feeling for all in her presence. She truly was a fun-loving, wonderful soul. After a 20 plus year career with the NC Department of Corrections, she enjoyed retirement to its fullest.. Her greatest passions were gardening, playing bridge and going out to eat with her special devoted friends, her church family, and anything involving the activities of her beloved grandchildren. Her strongest and most endearing quality was her unwavering love and support for her two sons and their families. She reminded them often through words and deeds that they were her "heart". She will be forever missed

Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Mark Hurley and wife, Kim and Brad Hurley and wife, Kerri; a brother, Bobby Mobley and wife, Joan; and her grandchildren, Adam Hurley, Daniel Hurley, Amanda O'Quinn, Meredith Bolton, Ashton Hurley and Gray Hurley.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, January 5, 2018 in Hay Street United Methodist Church with Rev. David Blackmon officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at the church.
