Doris Davis Costin

Doris Davis Costin, 80,  beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully Monday, August 13, 2018 in St. Petersburg, Fla. 

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Halbert Ray Costin; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Costin; son, Stephen Joseph Costin; four sisters; one brother; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Doris was born in Wilson, N.C. September 20, 1937 to Joseph R. and Mattie L. Davis. After marriage she traveled extensively with her military husband, living in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Germany, before finally settling in Raeford.  Doris spent her last three years living in St. Petersburg Fla.

Doris' greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her daughter,  Wanda L. Morales of Chula Vista, Cali.; sons, Halbert "Ray" Costin of Galivants Ferry, S.C., David "Mike" Costin of Bolivia and Robert E. Costin of St. Petersburg, Fla.;  daughter-in-law,  Ruth Costin of Sunset Harbor; two sisters, Eula Gray of Raeford and Dorothy Woodcock of Burgaw; and nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm (noon) Monday August 20, 2018 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery 400 Murchison Rd, Spring Lake with a visitation from 10 am to 11:30 am prior to the service at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
