Barbara Leslie Glazier Galison, 70, of Woodbury, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at home.
She attended Penn State University before moving to New York. She eventually retired from Fred Alger Management in New York after over 15 years of dedicated executive administrative service to the company. Barbara loved life and the arts, traveled the world, and was an exceptionally intelligent and caring person.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Beth Israel Cemetery, Ann Street, Fayetteville, NC with Rabbi Eve Eichenholtz presiding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Acker and Stanley Glazier, and her step-son, David Galison.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Rick Glazier and his wife, Lise, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a nephew, Philip Glazier of McLean, Va.; a niece, Megan Glazier and great-niece, Harlow Grace Glazier of Raleigh, N.C.; her husband of 30 years, Edward Galison; two step-daughters, Laura Adams and husband, Tony and Marni Kagan and husband, Joshua, all of New York; and 6 grandchildren, Jake Adams, Daniel Kagan, Jacqueline Galison, Hailey Galison, Dillan Galison and David Galison. Also missing Barbara is her loyal dog, Norma. Her greatest joys were her family and the rescue animals she adored all her life.
The family will receive friends after the service and again that evening at 7:30 pm, in the home of Lise and Rick Glazier, for a short service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Carolina Justice Center in Raleigh, NC or the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society (FAPS) Fayetteville, NC.
