I worked with Barbara Chapa in the 1980s-90s, I was in Materiel Branch at the base hospital, WAMC. I did meet her several times at the Transportation Office. She was always a pleasure to work and converse with. She mentioned that her son Dan was an upcoming officer in the Army Medical Department.
Later in 1991-1993 he was a CPT Daniel Chapa assigned as C, Materiel Br. I was a section supervisor and he was my immediate supervisor. He was and is a good person just like his mother The last time I talked with her son was in 2013 when he was a full colonel/A06 at Fort Sam Houston, Tx. My condolences to the family, her husband, son and daughter.

I knew Barbara Chapa when she worked as a transportation officer during the 1980s through 1992. She was an even keeled woman always pleasant and a pleasure to work with. I did meet her in person at her work site in the 1980s, she mentioned that her son worked for Army Medical Dept (AMEDD).
Later in 1991 it was my pleasure to have him as my boss as he was the Chief, Materiel Br, WAMC from 1991-1993. COL Dan Chapa later returned to WAMC as C, Logistics Div. I never met his dad or sister, I am sure they are upstanding people as well.
